India has reacted strongly to the security breach in London during External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar\u2019s visit to the United Kingdom, with the Ministry of External Affairs saying the incident highlighted the licence accorded to extremist forces in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n

EAM Jaishankar was heckled by Khalistani extremists while he was leaving after an event in London on Wednesday (March 5, 2025)<\/p>\n

Videos of the incident showed a group of people near the venue; they subsequently rushed towards the visiting Indian External Affairs Minister\u2019s car as he was leaving and disrespected the Indian flag.<\/p>\n

India has already conveyed its \u201cdeep concern\u201d to the UK authorities about this breach of security arrangements by the UK-based Khalistani extremists.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media at the weekly briefing in New Delhi on Friday (March 7, 2025), MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, \u201cI would like to reiterate that we have conveyed our deep concern to the UK authorities about the breach of security arrangements by the UK-based separatist and extremist elements during the External Affairs Minister\u2019s visit\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Responding to questions on the incident, the MEA Spokesperson noted that the incident should not be seen in isolation. He referred to earlier incidents targeting Indian missions to highlight what he described as \u201cindifference\u201d on the part of the UK authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a larger context to the incident\u2026it brings out both the license accorded to such forces as well as indifference to intimidation, threats and other actions aimed at impeding our legitimate diplomatic activities in the UK,\u201d Jaiswal stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we have noted the statement issued by the UK\u2019s Foreign Office on the matter. Our view on its sincerity would depend on the action taken against culprits on this and previous occasions,\u201d MEA Spokesperson Jaiswal said.<\/p>\n
