The city\u2019s mayor, Sergei Petrin, said a kindergarten was damaged and children were being temporarily transferred to neighbouring facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Russian air defence units destroyed 12 Ukrainian drones over the Voronezh region, Governor Alexander Gusev said on Telegram.<\/li>\n<li>A drone crashed in an industrial zone in Russia\u2019s Yelets city in the Lipetsk region, injuring one person, regional Governor Igor Artamonov said on Telegram.<\/li>\n<li>The governor of Russia\u2019s Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said a woman was injured in a drone attack on the village of Sluchevsk.<\/li>\n<li>The Russian Defence Ministry said on Telegram that its air defence units destroyed 55 Ukrainian drones overnight across five Russian regions and the Black Sea.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"politics-and-diplomacy\">Politics and diplomacy<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>United States President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that Ukraine \u201cshouldn\u2019t target\u201d the Russian capital Moscow, and that he was \u201con nobody\u2019s side\u2026I want to stop the killing\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Senior Russian security official Dmitry Medvedev dismissed what he described as Trump\u2019s \u201ctheatrical\u201d 50-day \u201cultimatum\u201d for the Kremlin to end its war on Ukraine after the US president announced a deal to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/7\/14\/trump-says-us-will-send-patriot-missiles-to-ukraine\">supply more weapons<\/a> to Kyiv via NATO, and threatened tariffs on Russia.<\/li>\n<li>Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/7\/15\/russia-says-it-needs-time-to-analyse-trumps-ukraine-announcements\">told reporters<\/a> that Trump\u2019s remarks on Monday were \u201cvery serious\u201d, adding that \u201csome of them are addressed personally to President Putin\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that the US president\u2019s \u201cchange of posture\u201d towards Russia was \u201cobviously welcome\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced his resignation a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was offering the job to Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
