<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pchrgaza?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@pchrgaza<\/a>\/1<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Al-Haq \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0642 (@alhaq_org) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alhaq_org\/status\/1963695633824632839?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 4, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Ramallah-based Al-Haq has been a leading organisation both in the occupied Palestinian territory and internationally seeking accountability for Israeli abuses, while leading litigation in several countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Gaza City-based Palestinian Centre for Human Rights and the Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights have been leading independent organisation that have documented Israel\u2019s ongoing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2025\/9\/4\/live-hamas-says-ready-for-truce-deal-as-israel-pounds-gaza-city-overnight\">war in Gaza<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement shared by all three organisations, they condemned \u201cin the strongest terms the draconian sanctions\u201d imposed by the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese measures in times of live genocide against our People, is a coward[ly], immoral, illegal and undemocratic act,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnly states with complete disregard to international law and our shared humanity can take such heinous measures against human rights orgs working to end a genocide,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The U.S. just sanctioned three of the most prominent Palestinian human rights groups: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alhaq_org?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@alhaq_org<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pchrgaza?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@pchrgaza<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlMezanCenter?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AlMezanCenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Shameful but not surprising. <\/p>\n<p>This administration bends over backwards to put Israel First every time. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ocXBYJllki\">pic.twitter.com\/ocXBYJllki<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mohsen Farshneshani (@mFarshneshani) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mFarshneshani\/status\/1963685189466648863?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 4, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In a post on the social media platform X, Mohsen Farshneshani, a sanctions lawyer and advisor at Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), described the organisations as \u201cthree of the most prominent Palestinian human rights groups\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShameful but not surprising,\u201d Farshneshani wrote. \u201cThis administration bends over backwards to put Israel First every time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The US previously sanctioned the Ramallah-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/opinions\/2021\/10\/24\/why-israel-is-trying-to-criminalise-palestinian-civil-society\">Addameer<\/a>, a human rights organisation focused on Palestinian prisoners and detainees, in June.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, which both work closely with the group, said the sanctions \u201cwould make day-to-day operations harder and harder, including for their employees, assisted communities and service suppliers. This will also negatively affect their engagement with their partner organizations, locally and internationally, including US-based groups\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe US is using its sanctions regime to do the bidding of the Israeli government, which has long systematically sought to muzzle human rights reporting and advocacy,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the Trump administration also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/7\/31\/us-state-department-sanctions-palestinian-authority-for-undermining-peace\">sanctioned<\/a> the Palestinian Authority (PA), which administers the occupied West Bank, and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which represents Palestinians internationally.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the Trump administration has revoked sanctions imposed under former US President Joe Biden on Israelis from illegal settlements and organisations accused of violence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Al-Haq, Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) and Al-Mezan targeted for engaging with ICC, state department says.
