About 70 homes and an administration building were damaged in the attack, Prokudin said.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine\u2019s General Staff said Ukrainian forces struck Russia\u2019s Afipsky oil refinery. \u201cConfirmed collision and fire,\u201d the General Staff said in a post on Facebook, adding that the degree of damage was being investigated.<\/li>\n<li>Russian forces have occupied the Ukrainian village of Yunakivka in the Sumy region, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported, according to Russia\u2019s TASS news agency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"politics-and-diplomacy\">Politics and diplomacy<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Russia on Friday accused Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of making \u201cirresponsible\u201d threats after he said Moscow\u2019s top officials should check for bomb shelters near the Kremlin if the country does not stop its offensive on Ukraine.<\/li>\n<li>In an interview with United States media outlet Axios, published on Thursday, President Zelenskyy said Russian officials \u201chave to know where their bomb shelters are\u201d, adding: \u201cIf they will not stop the war, they will need it in any case.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>US President Donald Trump told Zelenskyy he was open to lifting restrictions on Ukraine\u2019s use of American-made long-range weapons to strike deep inside Russia, but did not commit to doing so in their meeting on Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed officials.<\/li>\n<li>Axios also reported on Friday that Zelenskyy asked Trump for Tomahawk missiles, citing unnamed sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"regional-security\">Regional security<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Zelenskyy said Ukraine\u2019s military had recently \u201crecorded violations of our airspace by reconnaissance drones, which are likely Hungarian\u201d, along the country\u2019s border with its neighbour. Speaking later in his nightly video address, Zelenskyy referred to \u201cvery strange incidents\u201d and called for \u201cthorough checks\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto replied in a post on X, saying: \u201cPresident Zelenskyy is losing his mind to his anti-Hungarian obsession. He\u2019s now starting to see things that aren\u2019t there.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Earlier on Friday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Kyiv had imposed an entry ban on three high-ranking Hungarian military officials, responding to an earlier entry ban imposed by Hungary on Ukrainian military officials.<\/li>\n<li>European Union Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius said EU defence ministers have agreed to develop a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/26\/eu-plans-to-develop-drone-wall-amid-regional-airspace-violations\">\u201cdrone wall\u201d<\/a> along their borders with Russia and Ukraine, amid increasing reports of Russian violations of EU airspace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Moldova\u2019s electoral commission <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/26\/moldova-bans-pro-russian-parties-ahead-of-sundays-election\">barred two pro-Russian parties<\/a> from taking part in this Sunday\u2019s parliamentary election, a high-stakes vote overshadowed by claims of Russian interference.<\/li>\n<li>Serbian police arrested two people on Friday, accusing them of running \u201ccombat-tactical training\u201d for dozens of protesters in advance of tense Moldovan parliamentary elections this weekend.<\/li>\n<li>The arrests come after Moldova\u2019s president, Maia Sandu, accused Russia of paying \u201chundreds of people\u201d to destabilise the country before Sunday\u2019s vote.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"energy\">Energy<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko put forward plans to either expand his country\u2019s only existing nuclear power plant or build a second plant in order to supply energy to Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine, during a meeting at the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, according to Russia\u2019s RIA Novosti news agency.<\/li>\n<li>Lukashenko also said after the meeting that he had reached an agreement for Russia to provide gas to Belarus for the next five years, RIA reported.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/6\/21\/belarus-opposition-leader-syarhei-tikhanovsky-freed-from-jail-says-wife\">Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya<\/a>, the exiled leader of Belarus\u2019s opposition, told The Associated Press news agency that the energy plans put \u201call of Europe at risk\u201d and \u201cproves once again\u201d that Lukashenko \u201cis complicit in Russian aggression\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/main><\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are the key events on day 1,311 of Russia\u2019s war on Ukraine.
