Five smaller Danish airports, both civilian and military, were also shut temporarily in the following days.<\/p>\n<p>Danish authorities have called the incursions hybrid attacks, and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said earlier this week it was \u201cthe most serious attack on Danish critical infrastructure to date\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In neighbouring Norway, police said on Saturday they were investigating possible drone sightings near the country\u2019s Oerland air force base in the central region, the main base for Norway\u2019s F-35 jets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe guards at the base made several observations outside the base\u2019s perimeter early on Saturday,\u201d a spokesperson at the Norwegian armed forces\u2019 joint headquarters told the Reuters news agency.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate statement to the AFP news agency, Brynjar Stordal said, \u201cThe sightings are probably drones but the investigation will find out what it was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt least two drones\u201d flew in a restricted area near the base \u201cfor around an hour\u201d before disappearing, he said.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/9\/21\/germany-scrambles-jets-after-russia-military-aircraft-flies-over-baltic-sea\">Germany<\/a>, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt said on Saturday that a drone \u201cswarm\u201d was spotted on Friday over the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein, which borders Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>He said he wants to revise air safety laws to allow the armed forces to shoot down drones.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, defence ministers from about 10 EU nations announced that they want to prioritise building a so-called \u201cdrone wall\u201d to secure their borders.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the measures would lead to \u201can increase in military and political tensions on our continent\u201d, according to state news agency RIA Novosti.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry added that the plans amounted to \u201cpersonal ambitions and political games of the EU\u2019s ruling elites\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Denmark reports new drone incursions, while neighbouring Norway says it is investigating two drone sightings.
