The vessel is now \u201csteaming\u201d towards Gaza, Cameron added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a bunch of very tough Turks onboard \u2026 we\u2019ve got a lady from Oman and myself, and we\u2019re just going to continue in the direction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>A live video feed of the yacht, active as of 04:00 GMT, shows the crew steering the ship as the sun rises behind them in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n<p>A live geo tracker shows the ship located some 43 nautical miles (about 80km) from Gaza\u2019s territorial waters.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has previously warned the Marinette that \u201cits attempt to enter an active combat zone and breach the blockade will also be prevented\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">42 boats were illegally intercepted. <\/p>\n<p>Their passengers unlawfully abducted. <\/p>\n<p>The world saw what happens when civilians challenge a siege.<\/p>\n<p>And still \u2014 Marinette sails on. <\/p>\n<p>She knows the fate of her sisters on the water. <\/p>\n<p>She knows what awaits. Several high-profile figures \u2013 including activist Greta Thunberg, former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau, and Member of European Parliament Rima Hassan \u2013 are among those being held.<\/p>\n<p>As the largest naval aid mission yet to attempt to deliver supplies to the Palestinian enclave, the flotilla has garnered global attention, and the seizure of the boats has been met with global condemnation and sparked protests worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Cotton, the general secretary of the International Transport Workers\u2019 Federation (ITF), representing more than 16.5 million transport workers globally, told Al Jazeera that \u201cattacking or seizing nonviolent, humanitarian vessels in international waters\u201d is illegal under international law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStates cannot pick and choose when to respect international law. The seas must not be turned into a theatre of war,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>World leaders have also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/10\/2\/how-the-world-is-responding-to-israels-interception-of-the-gaza-flotilla\">condemned the unlawful seizures<\/a>, including Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who announced his government was expelling Israeli diplomats and cancelling Colombia\u2019s free trade agreement in light of Israel\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>European nations \u2013 including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Greece and Ireland \u2013 have also called on Israel to respect the rights of the crew members it has seized.<\/p>\n<p>The United Nations is yet to comment on Israel\u2019s actions, but the UN\u2019s special rapporteur for Palestine, Francesca Albanese, has described the interceptions as an \u201cillegal abduction\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy thoughts are with the people of Gaza, trapped in Israel\u2019s killing fields,\u201d Albanese wrote on X.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Israeli military has largely dismantled a humanitarian flotilla seeking to break its siege on Gaza, arresting hundreds of activists from dozens of vessels, but one yacht continues to plough onwards towards the Palestinian enclave.
