Hamas made no mention of disarming \u2013 a key demand from Israel, which was included in Trump\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n<p>Below is what some countries around the world have said:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Qatar<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Gulf nation, which has been central to negotiations on Gaza, has welcomed Hamas\u2019s announcement \u201cof its agreement to President Trump\u2019s plan, and its readiness to release all hostages as part of the exchange framework outlined in the plan\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also affirm our support for the statements made by the President calling for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate the safe and swift release of hostages, and to achieve rapid results that would put an end to the bloodshed of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,\u201d Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said on X.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"egypt\">Egypt<\/h2>\n<p>Another key player, Egypt, said it hoped for a \u201cpositive development\u201d and that it would work with Arab states, the US and European countries to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"turkiye\">Turkiye<\/h2>\n<p>The Turkish foreign ministry said the Palestinian group\u2019s response \u201cprovides an opportunity for the immediate establishment of a ceasefire in Gaza\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"palestinian-islamic-jihad\">Palestinian Islamic Jihad<\/h2>\n<p>The PIJ says Hamas\u2019s statement expresses the position of other Palestinian groups. The PIJ \u201cparticipated responsibly in the consultations that led to this decision\u201d, a brief statement on Telegram said.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"united-nations\">United Nations<\/h2>\n<p>Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was encouraged by the Hamas statement and urged parties to \u201cseize the opportunity to bring the tragic conflict in Gaza to an end\u201d, according to spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"india\">India<\/h2>\n<p>India\u2019s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Trump\u2019s \u201cleadership\u201d in his peace efforts in Gaza that have made \u201cdecisive progress\u201d. In a post on social media, Modi tagged the US President\u2019s X accounts, saying: \u201cIndications of the release of hostages mark a significant step forward. India will continue to strongly support all efforts towards a durable and just peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"malaysia\">Malaysia<\/h2>\n<p>Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim offered a more cautionary tone: \u201cThe peace plan presented by the United States is not perfect, and we even disagree with much of it. However, our current priority is to save the lives of the Palestinian people,\u201d he said, adding that the endorsement by Arab and Islamic countries \u201cis not a sign of agreement with everything outlined in that plan, but a collective step to halt the bloodshed, reject expulsion and give the people of Gaza the opportunity to return to their homeland\u201d. \u201cThe release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza are within reach!\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"france\">France<\/h2>\n<p>President Emmanuel Macron wrote on X, joining a chorus of hopeful European reactions to Hamas\u2019s response. \u201cThe release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza are within reach! Hamas\u2019 commitment must be followed up without delay. We now have the opportunity to make decisive progress towards peace. France will play its full part in line with its efforts at the United Nations, alongside the United States, Israelis and Palestinians, and all of its international partners.
