tracking settler violence in 2013.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div aria-live=\"polite\" aria-atomic=\"true\">\n<p>Israeli settlers have carried out more attacks against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, as the United Nations warned that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/10\/25\/israeli-settlers-attack-more-palestinians-as-olive-harvest-violence-surges\">this year\u2019s olive harvest<\/a> is on track to be the most violent in more than a decade.<\/p>\n<p>The Palestinian official news agency Wafa reported several incidents of settler violence on Saturday, including in them as they were harvesting their olives.<\/p>\n<p>Palestinians in the West Bank have experienced a surge in settler and military attacks since Israel launched its Gaza war in 2023.\u00a0But this year\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/10\/31\/israeli-army-settlers-target-palestinian-olive-harvesters-in-west\">olive harvest season<\/a>, which began last month, has brought an even greater increase in violent incidents.<\/p>\n<p>The UN\u2019s agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said on Saturday that October \u201cis on track to be the most violent month since UNRWA began tracking settler violence in 2013\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe annual olive harvest is the primary livelihood for tens of thousands of Palestinians, with olive trees deeply rooted in Palestinian heritage and identity,\u201d Roland Friedrich, director of UNRWA affairs in the West Bank, said in a statement shared on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAttacks on the olive harvest threaten the very way of life for many Palestinians and further deepen the coercive environment in the occupied West Bank,\u201d Friedrich said. \u201cFamilies should be allowed unhindered access to their lands to harvest their olives in safe conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ochaopt.org\/content\/humanitarian-situation-update-335-west-bank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">latest UN figures<\/a>, released on Thursday, at least 126 Israeli settler attacks have been recorded in 70 Palestinian towns and villages so far this olive harvest season.<\/p>\n<p>More than 4,000 olive trees and saplings also have been vandalised, the UN\u2019s humanitarian office (OCHA) found.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, OCHA said that the expansion of illegal Israeli settlement outposts in the West Bank has \u201cfurther undermined Palestinian farmers\u2019 ability to reach their lands\u201d to harvest their olive trees.<\/p>\n<p>Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s government has been rapidly expanding settlement activity in the shadow of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/liveblog\/2025\/11\/1\/live-israel-continues-attacks-on-gaza-as-palestinians-fear-return-to-war\">the Gaza war<\/a>, drawing condemnation and warnings from the UN and international human rights groups.<\/p>\n<p>Far-right Israeli politicians, including members of Netanyahu\u2019s governing coalition, have also been pushing for Israel to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/10\/22\/israels-parliament-advances-bill-to-annex-occupied-west-bank\">formally annex<\/a> the West Bank.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the UN human rights office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/unispal\/document\/ohchr-israel-must-immediately-end-violence-policies-and-practices-against-palestinians-in-the-occupied-west-bank-en-ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warned<\/a> that escalating settler violence in the West Bank is being carried out \u201cwith the acquiescence, support, and in some cases participation, of Israeli security forces\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Settler and military attacks \u201care part of a broader and coordinated strategy of the State of Israel to expand and consolidate annexation of the occupied West Bank, while
