It hurts every Indian\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrime Minister \u2060Narendra Modi should take up this matter with the US President \u2060and register a strong objection,\u201d the party said on X.<\/p>\n<p>Indian government data shows nearly 5.5 million people of Indian origin live in the US. Indian Americans and Chinese Americans are the biggest groups of Asian origin in the US.<\/p>\n<p>Savage\u2019s comment, shared by Trump, continued: \u201cThere\u2019s almost no loyalty to this country amongst the immigrant class coming in today, \u200cwhich was not always the case. No, they\u2019re not like the European Americans of today and their ancestors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump and Modi enjoyed \u200cwarm ties during Trump\u2019s first term, but relations cooled after India was hit last year with some of the highest US tariffs, many of which were rolled back this year.<\/p>\n<p>India and the US are \u200cnow \u200c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/2\/3\/modi-trump-announce-india-us-trade-deal-what-we-know-and-what-we-dont\">working on a trade deal<\/a> aimed at preventing any renewed tariff increases and boosting sales to each other.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has repeatedly used insulting language to refer to foreign nations and immigrant communities, including recently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/12\/3\/ilhan-omar-denounces-donald-trump-for-calling-somali-immigrants-garbage\">calling Somali immigrants \u201cgarbage\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Trump <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2018\/1\/12\/trumps-shithole-remarks-spur-international-anger\">made global headlines<\/a> for referring to El Salvador, Haiti and African nations as \u201cs**thole countries\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India\u2019s Foreign Ministry says comments by US radio host Michael Savage, circulated by Trump, are \u2018uninformed\u2019.
