The group is separate from but allied with Afghanistan\u2019s Taliban government and has intensified its campaign against Pakistani security forces in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>The Afghan Taliban administration on Tuesday rejected the allegation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistani officials\u2019 latest remarks, which claim \u2060that an attack on \u2060a police centre in Bannu was \u2060planned in \u2060Afghanistan, are considered \u2060baseless and rejected,\u201d Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said \u200cin a post on X.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistani authorities have long accused Afghanistan\u2019s Taliban government of sheltering TTP fighters. Kabul has denied the allegation, saying it does not allow any attacks to be launched against other countries from its soil.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan has witnessed a surge in violence in recent years, with the TTP and other armed groups growing more emboldened since the Afghan Taliban\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/8\/15\/taliban-marks-fourth-anniversary-of-return-to-power-with-internal-threats\">return to power in Kabul<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated in recent months, and the two sides have engaged in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2026\/2\/27\/pakistan-bombs-kabul-why-are-afghanistan-and-pakistan-fighting\">fighting that has killed hundreds of people<\/a> since late February.
