It featured the words \u201cgood morning\u201d written in Hebrew.<\/p>\n<p>In the screenshot, which had the words \u201cgood morning\u201d in Hebrew written over it, the man\u2019s hands are bound behind his back, his right foot tied to the bottom corner of a cot. A wooden rod is bound to the back of his body, running from his right foot up to his neck. His face is mostly obscured.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli military said it had identified the incident and that an inquiry was under way. He has swelling in his foot and scars on his leg \u2013 the same swelling on his left leg I saw in the picture,\u201d she told Reuters.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">She said that was the first image of him she had seen since he was arrested in March in an area near \u2060the so-called \u201cYellow Line\u201d, demarcating Israeli control within Gaza.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">His arrest on March 19 gained international attention because he was detained along with \u2060his one-year-old child, who was released the same day with what his family said were cigarette burn marks on his legs.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">His mother said Osama suffers from mental health issues and that a \u201cnormal person would not take his son to that area\u201d near the \u201cYellow Line\u201d where Israeli forces frequently open fire on Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Israel\u2019s military rejected allegations that its forces abused Osama\u2019s \u2060son. He is my son. A mother\u2019s heart can recognise her son. I hugged the mobile phone and started crying,\u201d she told Reuters from a displaced persons camp in Gaza City. \u201cHe is my son, my soul, my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">The families\u2019 plight highlights a broader crisis facing Palestinians in Israeli custody. Currently, some 1,200 Palestinians from Gaza are being held in Israel under the Internment of Unlawful Combatants Law.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">The controversial law allows for the unlimited detention of individuals suspected of participating, directly or indirectly, in hostile acts.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Amani Sarahneh of the Palestinian Prisoners Society said that since the \u200cimage\u2019s \u200crelease the organisation has submitted both men\u2019s names to the military in order to try to get lawyer visits with them.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">\u201cVisits do take place, but with great difficulty.
