India will host the first-ever conference for women peacekeepers on the theme \u201cWomen in Peacekeeping: A Global South Perspective\u201d next week in New Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n

To be held on February 24-25, the conference brings together participation of women peacekeepers from 35 Troops Contributing Countries (TCCs) from Global South.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the conference, the United Nations will be represented by Jean- Pierre Lacroix, UN Under Secretary General, Department of Peace Operations and Christian Saunders, UN Special Coordinator.<\/span><\/p>\n

They will join other relevant stake-holders pertaining to the peacekeeping domain in the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

The conference is being organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Centre for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK). External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will deliver the keynote address at the two-day conference for women peacekeepers.<\/span><\/p>\n
